 Using Palabre from a webpage SWF - 2007/12/01 16:35 Well basically I'm making a flash game using XML Sockets and the Palabre server, and it works fine when it's standalone, but when I upload it to a webpage it doesn't work any more!
What's the problem and how can I fix it?
P.S. I've tried the crossdomain thing.

 Re:Using Palabre from a webpage SWF - 2007/12/03 22:17 Palabre isn't on its final server yet, but I'm running it from my own computer for testing.

The port is open and everything works fine - anybody can access it flawlessly as long as they are running the flash application from their computer and not a web page.

I have been trying to run the swf from clanrtw.com, but it doesn't connect.

- You have Palabre up and running on your computer (IP : x.x.x.x) on port 2468
- Port is open and anyone could do a telnet x.x.x.x 2468
- Your SWF is hosted on clanrtw.com/xyz.swf
- Your SWF is trying to connect to x.x.x.x on port 2468
- Your palabre.conf has the line
alloweddomains = clanrtw.com www.clanrtw.com
- Your SWF calls before connecting :
System.security.loadPolicyFile("xmlsocket://x.x.x.x:2468"); Célio Conort

Do you have any allowscriptaccess, allownetworking in your HTML tags ?
Do you have a web server on the computer running Palabre where you could put a crossdomain.xml file ?

I just realised something else:
when I compile my swf, flash tells me it doesn't recognise System.security.loadPolicyFile("xmlsocket://www.clanrtw.com:2468");
Does this mean something is wrong?
I am using Flash MX 2004
