 very simple AS3 example? - 2007/12/25 11:34 Hello,

does somebody have a very simple AS3 example for using the xml socket server?

something like a inputfield + send button and a textfield very the answer from the server is written.

Because I'am a beginner with Actionscript it would help me much.

Does nobody hava a small easy to understand example. Sorry I don't want to bother you :-)

I already ordered a Actionscript Beginners Book which hopefully arrives the next days, so I will understand more hopefully in the next weeks, but I would like to even start in the meantime with some small experiments.

I would really appreciate it.

I have currently to dev environments:
1. trial version of Adobe flash CS3
2. open source flashdevelop with flex 2 sdk

 Re:very simple AS3 example? - 2007/12/28 18:18 The reason you are having trouble finding an example is because most people are still using Actionscript 2 not Actionscript 3.

The place to find people who are active and using AC3 is on http://www.kirupa.com/

There is a forum that is dedicated to AC3, and there may already be a Socks XML example.

I suggest that you read all about how XML works on kirupa before you learn about socket xml. You are starting with the complicated things rather than the simple things, which will only lead to more frustration in the learning process in my opinion.
