SMALL Tutorial :) - 2006/02/11 12:45 Hey,

Can anybody create a simple tutorial on how 2 people can move a box using the palabre communication server?

This will help me learn the basics and hopefully create some pretty cool mulitplayer games :)

I run www.tcartoon.com and as you can see we've created a few RPG games already - wouldn't they just be awesome multiplayer?

Re:SMALL Tutorial :) - 2006/02/12 14:17 Did you took a look at the Palabre Mouse Echo Client ?
It moves a cursor instead of a box , but it should do .
It simply connects, send and receive positions, and moves cursor.

Have fun

Re:SMALL Tutorial :) - 2006/02/13 02:33 argh, im an idiot, thanks :)

however, there are problems with running the linux server on CentOS -

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/bin/palabre", line 39, in ?
from palabre import palabreDaemon
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/palabre/__init__.py", line 24, in ?
import ConfigParser, logging, os
ImportError: No module named logging

what do you think could be the problem?

Re:SMALL Tutorial :) - 2006/02/13 09:58 I must admit that i didn't test Palabre under CentOs, but i've already noticed some problems with Python 2.2.
I think that the "logging" module was not implemented with this version of python.

If you have a python2.3 installed and could check with it, it should work fine. (i think that another xml module is missing in python 2.2)

Have fun

SORRY, website is currently mostly broken due to software changes on the server.
Hope to fix it soon ...

In the meantime you may still download palabre or use the forum
