Nahkranoth Visitor	send xml with php - 2006/03/17 13:58 Is it possible to make a connection to the palabre server from a php file? I'm not an expert at php but i know the basics, but i do know actionscripting. Its for a assignment to make a flash movie that calls your telephone number (by a extern server that provides that service) that extern server sends a variable to a php file when you hang up the phone and that php file should tell the flash movie that the telephone is hanged up.

But Palabre can be called from any program that has socket abilities (and PHP do) But i'm not sure that you need Palabre for what you want to do, as PHP can be called directly from Flash and can handle external applications like phoning, .... Any way ... have fun !:)

And i could write a pull loop script that checks if the phone is already hanged up, but thats not server friendly. But with Palabre a php file is called (by an external phone server) when someone hanges up the phone, check the number and then send a variable to Palabre, and Palabre sends a command to the right flash client... or am i wrong?

Célio Visitor	Re:send xml with php - 2006/03/20 17:29 Well yeah you can do it this way, but if the waiting time is less than 30 second (more or less, it depends on your PHP configuration) you can send a LoadVariables to php that makes the call and wait for the php to return (if you have access to the php configuration you can increase the timeout) or else you can do that with php scripts with fsockopen(), but you will have to modify Palabre so that it calls a php script on specific client action. good luck !
